Man, 72, injured after car overturns in Nottingham


The motorist is not thought to have been seriously injured in the incident.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

‘This morning at 0730 our team were called to Derby Road to a report of a Road Traffic Collision with Ilkeston Fire Station and Highfields Specialist Rescue Unit.


‘A 72 year old male was trapped in the vehicle. Using specialist rescue equipment we freed the male and handed him safely over to East Midlands Ambulance Service.

‘His injuries are not believed to be serious at this time and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.


‘Derby Road is now fully opened in both directions.’
