A man has appeared in court in connection with the attempted robbery of a van driver.
The victim had pulled up in Littleover Avenue, Mansfield, at around 6.15 pm on the evening of Friday 8 October when his path was blocked by a car.
After being threatened he sustained a cut wound to his hand as he attempted to defend himself.
The would-be robber made off empty-handed in an awaiting car. Following enquiries police arrested a man on Wednesday in connection with the alleged incident.
William Robinson, aged 44, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (7 January 2022) charged with attempted robbery and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.
Robinson, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 4 February.
Detective Sergeant Jon Kerry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These kinds of offences are treated extremely seriously by Nottinghamshire Police and we will always exhaust every line of enquiry in order to apprehend suspects and put them before the courts.”
