A man has appeared in court after a fight led to a shop owner’s ear being partially bitten off.
The fight began inside the shop before it spilled out into the street in Wiverton Road, Forest Fields, at around 4.40pm on Wednesday (24 November).
Officers received multiple phone calls from members of the public about the fight before quickly attending to find three men fighting.
Michael Green, 44, of Wiverton Road, Forest Fields, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday (26 November) charged with grievous bodily harm and racially aggravated assault.
He was remanded into custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 3 January 2022.
Detective Sergeant Louise Bradford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim in this incident was taken to hospital for treatment after reportedly having part of his ear bitten off during the altercation.
“Officers have been working very hard to understand what happened during this incident and I am pleased that we have now been able to charge a suspect in relation to this violent incident.”
