Officers attending a report of a burglary in Bulwell last night (Friday 29 November 2019) quickly found the incident was not quite as it first appeared.

Upon arrival at a property in Fenton Drive at around 9 pm, police searching the house spotted evidence of a cannabis grow on the top floor and arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of production of the Class B drug.

A further grow was found in the loft of the property.

It was reported that three men were seen to breaking into the property at 9pm before leaving via the front door with a large bag.

Inspector Jenny Madin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We believe that the men who entered the property left with a large quantity of cannabis as the majority of the growth in the top floor of the house had been taken.

“It is thought that were are up to 100 plants in the loft and I’d like to commend our officers for using their intuition to conduct a full search of the house.

“The three men are reported to have been wearing masks throughout the incident and I would encourage anyone with any information to get in touch with us via 101 and quote incident number 975 of 29 November 2019.”
