A suspect was arrested shortly after a woman was reportedly threatened with knives.
Police were called to an address in Lindfield Road, Broxtowe Estate, shortly before 3.20am on Tuesday (3 May) following reports of a disturbance.
It was claimed a drunk man stabbed two knives into a bed and punched three holes into a door following an argument with a woman.
Officers quickly arrived at the scene and detained a suspect.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
Inspector Marcus Oldroyd, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We will always respond immediately to incidents of this nature to keep people safe. Violence of any kind is unacceptable – especially when it involved weapons.
“I would like to reassure residents that this was an isolated incident involving people known to each other and there was no wider threat to the local community.”
