Man arrested after two women allegedly assaulted in the Meadows

A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, he remains in police custody for questioning.

Police arrested a man in connection with a report of an assault yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to Ryeland Gardens in The Meadows at around 3.20 pm on 15 June after a report that a man had attacked two women in the street.

It is believed that two women were physically assaulted and that the man made violent threats towards one of the women.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, he remains in police custody for questioning.

Inspector James Walker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violence has no place in our communities and the safety of the public we serve is of paramount important to us.

“We acted quickly to make an arrest in connection with this incident and we are now conducting further enquiries to establish the circumstances.

“Anyone with any information that could aid our officers in their investigation should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 535 of 15 of June 2020.”
