A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Co-op store.
An investigation was launched by Nottinghamshire Police after a masked man jumped over the counter and demanded cash from two tills before fleeing with cash. No weapon was seen and no one was hurt.
The incident happened at the store in University Boulevard, Beeston, just before 8pm on 27 January 2020.
Officers questioned the man in connection with the offence this morning and he has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Ian Holmes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our enquiries are continuing into this robbery, which was quite shocking for the staff. It is believed the suspect was carrying a rucksack and was wearing a face mask at the time of the incident – which happened before people were wearing masks due to Covid-19.
“If anyone witnessed the incident or remembers anything unusual at that time, we would still like to hear from them.”
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 823 of 27 January 2020.
