Police quickly detained a suspect after a response to reports of a man suspected to be carrying a weapon.
Officers were called to the Ashburnham Avenue area of Radford and after searching the area they arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.
A knife was recovered after a man was stopped in Alfreton Road at around 1.45pm on Friday (8 April 2022).
Officers are continuing with their enquiries into the incident, including checking CCTV footage.
Chief Inspector Neil Humphris, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The swiftness in which the suspect was safely detained sends a clear message of how seriously the force treats all reports of incidents involving weapons.
“The force continues to work hard every day, with the support of our partners and communities, to prevent people becoming involved in weapon-enabled crime in the first place and remains committed to doing everything in its power to keep people safe on our streets.”
