The man was further arrested on suspicion of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Detective Sergeant Dave Nicks, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to the quick intervention of officers they swiftly detained a suspect in connection with this  distressing incident which was contained within the property. There was no wider threat to the local community.

“Anyone who makes violent threats towards another person can expect a robust response from police – and that is what happened in this instance.

“Assaults on police officers and fellow emergency workers who work tirelessly to protect the public are totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated and the force will continue to do everything it can to crack down on this kind of behaviour.”
