Man assaulted for mobile phone in broad daylight in city centre

PUBLISHED:

A man was attacked outside Starbucks near Old Market Square this morning. 

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: ‘We were called to reports of an assault in Upper Parliament Street at around 11.40am today ( April 19 )

‘One man suffered injuries not believed to be serious.

‘Officers are investigating. If anyone has any information that can help, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 345 of April 19.’

A witness told West Bridgford Wire, ‘A man was standing outside Starbucks on his ‘phone, he was assaulted, punched several times and made to hand over his mobile phone.’

Adding: ‘The attacker, a male then ran off before police were called.’

The lady was in Starbucks at the time, heard the commotion and came out to see if she could offer any assistance.
