Two men have been taken into custody after a man was beaten in the street in broad daylight.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, was attacked in Pearson Street, Netherfield, at around 12.40pm on Wednesday (22 September 2021).
Police on patrol in the area at the time came across the victim lying on the floor in the middle of the street and spooked the suspects who then ran off.
Officers ran after them and arrested one 26-year-old before a further 26-year-old man was arrested close to the scene shortly after.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remain in custody.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
Detective Inspector Mike Ebbins, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a shocking incident of violence which left a man needing hospital treatment.
“This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable, and we are currently working to try and understand the facts surrounding the incident.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we would like to urge anyone who may have witnessed the attack or has any CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward.”
