Man charged after allegedly ‘waving scissors around’ and being abusive in Nottingham

A man has been charged after police were called to reports of a man waving scissors around.

Officers were called to Milton Street, Nottingham city centre, yesterday (5 September 2021), at around 8.30am following a number of calls from the public.

Peter Wilson, 46, of Pelham Road, Forest Fields, Nottingham, has now been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and using threatening abusive insulting words and behaviour with the intent to cause fear.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (6 September 2021).

Apprentice Constable Terry Smith, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police will not tolerate weapons in public.
