Man charged after burglary and shop theft in Nottingham

Police investigating a burglary have charged a suspect.

Officers were called to an address in Bute Avenue, Lenton, Nottingham, at around 5pm on 18 May when a suspect gained access to a house and stole a games console.

Donovan Watson, aged 41, of Pelham Road, Sherwood, has been charged with burglary. He has also been charged with theft after a box of wine was also taken from a nearby supermarket.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday) afternoon and was remanded into custody. He will next appear in court on 11 July 2022.

Detective Sergeant Emma Pollard, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Tackling burglaries and thefts is a priority for officers.

“That’s why we work so hard not only to solve offences that are reported to us, but also to prevent them from happening in the first place

“We have now charged a suspect in connection with these offences and our investigation continues.”
