Detectives investigating a series of arson attacks have charged a suspect.
A business in Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe, was targeted on five occasions between January and December 2022.
The attacks caused hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage to the company’s premises.
Omar Abdullah Omar, aged 40, of Charlbury Court, Bramcote, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (8 May) charged with four counts of arson and one of attempted arson.
He will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 5 June.
Detective Constable Chloe Baugh, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a detailed and complex investigation and I am pleased we have now placed this suspect before the courts.
“These incidents were extremely costly for the business but thanks to the swift efforts of our fire service colleagues they were quickly contained.
“It needs repeating though that any arson attack can have catastrophic consequences which is why we treat incidents like this with such seriousness.”
