A man has appeared in court in connection with a robbery which left an elderly woman needing hospital treatment.
Officers were called to Swiney Way, Toton, at around 12.40pm on Thursday 11 August 2022 after reports the 72-year-old victim had been knocked off her mobility scooter.
Detectives have thanked the public for their help after launching an appeal for information following the incident.
Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are determined to get justice for the victim who has gone through a frightening ordeal.
“I am pleased we have now charged a suspect in connection with this offence and would like to thank all of the officers involved for their quick response and determination.
“I would also like to thank the public for their help since we released an appeal for information.”
David Swain, aged 38, of Eskdale Drive, Beeston, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 16 August 2022) charged with robbery and fraud by false representation.
He was remanded in custody.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 326 of 11 August 2022.
