Police have charged a suspect after a man suffered stab wounds during a street fight.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in the Independent Street/Alfreton Road area of Radford at around 4.30pm on Wednesday (22 June 2022).
Two men believed to have been involved were taken to hospital.
One suffered stab wounds to his shoulder area. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering. The other suffered a fractured eye socket and facial injuries.
Police were quickly on the scene and made two arrests following enquiries.
Junior Bailey, aged 35, of Hyson Green, has been charged with wounding with intent, affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday 25 June 2022).
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody.
Detective Constable Sarah Gregg, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were on the scene very quickly. Violence of this sort will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire and the swift and robust response to this incident shows just how seriously we treat these type of offences.
“While we have now charged a suspect in connection with this incident our enquiries are continuing. I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who may have recorded CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist us with our investigation, to please get in touch.
