Man charged after weapons and drugs found in Rushcliffe village

A man is due to appear in court after a knife and a baton were recovered by police.

Officers stopped a suspect at around 7:20 pm in Hardigate Road, Cropwell Butler, and carried out a search.

A diver’s knife, the baton, cannabis and craft knives were found and seized.

Bradley Tobin-Marriot has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, and possession of cannabis.

The 23-year-old has been bailed to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 18 March.

Inspector Rob Lawton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to the quick actions of Nottinghamshire Police officers, we have been able to take potentially dangerous weapons off our streets and put a suspect before the courts.

“It is important that the public know that it is illegal to carry knives and that, whatever people might think, they won’t protect you from harm but will actually make you much more vulnerable and liable to end up in danger.”
