Man charged after woman suffers broken nose in Clifton attack

A man has been charged after a woman suffered a broken nose.

Officers were called to an address in Clifton, shortly after midnight on Wednesday (20 October) after receiving a report that a woman had been attacked.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with inflicting actual bodily harm and common assault.

He appeared at Nottinghamshire Magistrates Court on Thursday (21 October) and pleaded not guilty to both offences.

A trial has been listed for February 2022.

Sergeant Dave Nicks, of Nottinghamshire Police’s public protection team, said: “Reports of this nature are taken very seriously and wherever this is the case, officers will always take proactive measures and act swiftly to ensure everyone’s safety.

“A man has since been charged in relation to the reported incident and criminal proceedings are underway.”
