Man charged following attempted burglary in Newark

Officers received a call stating a man had smashed a window of Newark Antiques Centre.

A man has been charged with attempted burglary in Newark.

The charges relate to an incident that happened just after 4am on Thursday 27 June 2019 at Lombard Street.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested by officers close to the scene shortly after the incident.

Officers received a call stating a man had smashed a window of Newark Antiques Centre.

He gained entry and attempted to steal items.

The man was also wanted for two shop thefts and a breach of court order.

He has been charged with all offenses and remanded by the courts.
