Man charged in connection with knifepoint hair salon robberies in Notts

Police have charged a man in connection with knifepoint robberies at two hair salons in Nottinghamshire.

Ricardo Hartwright, 37, of Albert Avenue, Stapleford, has been charged with two counts of robbery and being in possession of a bladed article.

Officers received a report that a masked man escaped with a small amount of cash after walking into Jessica’s Hair Design in Nottingham Road, Stapleford, with a knife and demanding money. It happened at around 11.05am on Tuesday 3 April.

Officers also received a report that a masked man entered Dena’s Salon in Ewe Lambs Lane, Bramcote Hills, at about 5.30pm on 6 April 2018.

After demanding cash from the till and property from staff and customers he fled with a quantity of cash and a customer’s mobile phone.

Hartwright was arrested on 11 April on suspicion of robbery. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 13 April).
