A 26-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, attempted kidnap and possession of a bladed article, after a woman was stabbed in Nottingham City Centre on Friday (22 May 2020).
Nottinghamshire Police were called to Hanley Street at around 10.40am after two men were reported to have attempted to force a woman into a car after stabbing her in the abdomen.
Shah Tufayel Sami of Wellington Way in London, was arrested shortly after the incident and is now due to attend Nottingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday 25 May).
A 28-year-old man also arrested has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Adam Taylor said: “We are still making enquiries around this job but my team has been working around the clock and we have made significant progress so far.
“The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, however she is in shock and traumatised by the incident so we will continue to ensure she is getting the right support
“This was an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.”
