Man charged in Rushcliffe village after knife and baton found in stop and search

Police were patrolling in Saxondale and Cropwell Butler.

Police said:

‘Following local patrols in the Saxondale and Cropwell Butler areas conducted by officers from Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Teams, a male was stopped in the early evening of 3rd March 2022.

‘The male was subsequently searched by officers and found to have a knife with 5 inch blade, a friction lock baton and a small quantity of cannabis all in his possession.’

‘The male was arrested and later charged with the offences of possession a bladed article in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class B drug namely cannabis.’

‘The male is due to appear in court later this month.’
