Police investigating a stabbing of a man have charged a 21-year-old man with attempted murder.
Nottinghamshire Police launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in his back and face in Alfreton Road, Nottingham.
A 24-year-old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries after the incident at 10.05pm on Thursday.
The victim remains in hospital this week for treatment.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Waldram, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have been working around the clock on this incident and we understand the concern this has caused.
“Knife incidents are treated seriously and we are utilising lots of resources to investigate this serious offence and have increased patrols in the area to provide community reassurance.
“A man has now been charged with attempted murder.
“We are still appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or who might have any information that could help, no matter how small, to get in touch with us.”
Tyrese Baker of Bulwell has been charged with attempted murder.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court today and has been remanded into custody. His next court date has yet to be finalised.
