A suspect is due in court charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed.
Officers quickly attended Sneinton Dale, Sneinton, shortly before 5pm on Wednesday (13 July) after multiple reports were received from members of the public about a serious assault.
The victim was taken to hospital for surgery after suffering stab wounds.
Miran Amir, aged 23, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder, assault causing actual bodily harm and possession of a knife/sharp pointed article in a public place.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday 18 July 2022).
Detective Constable Aiden Cook, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A team of detectives has been working tirelessly on this case and these charges are a significant step in our ongoing investigation.
“As in any case of serious violence we acted swiftly to investigate this incident which has resulted in a suspect being arrested and charged.
“I’d like to reassure people the force treats all incidents of weapon-enabled violence extremely seriously and will always do everything in its power to keep people safe.
“Our lines of enquiry are continuing into this incident and we’d urge anyone with information about what happened, including anyone who may have captured CCTV or dash-cam footage, to please get in touch with us.”
