A 20-year-old man has been charged with several driving offences following a police pursuit.
Nottinghamshire Police was alerted to concerns surrounding a silver Jeep Cherokee which was being driven in the Newark area at around 7.30am on Wednesday.
Newark response officers quickly located the vehicle in Great North Road.
The driver tried to evade police and the vehicle was soon found abandoned.
A man was arrested nearby following an area search.
Kieran Lee, of Tithe Barn Court, has subsequently been charged with driving whilst disqualified, driving whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohol and driving without insurance.
The 20-year-old will now appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 29 September 2021.
