A man has appeared in court following an incident that led to police undercovering a suspected kidnapping.
Police were called to an address in Clifton, at around 10.15pm on Thursday (21 April) to a report of criminal damage.
Officers arrived to find a living room window smashed at a house.
Damage was also caused to a car parked outside the address.
While at the scene, a kidnapping was reported and a police located the victim at another address with minor injuries.
Cory Jackson, of Fleming Gardens, Clifton, has been charged with criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and kidnap.
The 31-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (23 April 2022) and was granted conditional bail.
He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 23 May.
Meanwhile, detectives have arrested a second suspect in connection with the investigation.
A 37-year-old man was questioned on suspicion of criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and kidnap and has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These are very serious offences and enquiries to uncover all the circumstances are ongoing.
“I am pleased we have now been able to bring a charge in this case and our investigation continues.”
