Officers investigating reports that a woman was left bruised and swollen after being punched have charged a man in connection with the incident.
Police were called to an address in Hucknall just before 10.30am on Sunday 1 August 2021 to reports of the assault, where it’s also alleged that the woman’s phone was smashed.
A 27-year-old man from Hucknall, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (2 August 2021) charged with assault by beating, actual bodily harm, causing grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and criminal damage.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 31 August 2021.
Detective Constable Jay Straw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Reports of this nature are taken very seriously and wherever this is the case, officers will always take proactive measures and act swiftly to ensure everyone’s safety.
“A man has since been charged in relation to the reported incident and officers are working hard to establish the circumstances.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 292 of 1 August 2021.”
