A 58-year-old man has been charged with making threats to kill following a disturbance at a house.
Police were called to a property in The Park, North Muskham, on Tuesday 14 December following a report that a man had pointed a shotgun at a woman and her son.
Steven Minshull, of The Park, North Muskham, has been charged with two counts of making threats to kill and possessing a firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 December and was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 13 January.
Detective Sergeant Tom Carver, of Nottinghamshire Police’s public protection team, said: “Nottinghamshire Police treats all reports of this nature extremely seriously. I am pleased that we have been able to bring a charge in this case and would like to reassure the local community that the people involved are known to each other and there was no wider threat to the community.”
