A man has died after entering the water in Sandiacre.
Police said:
‘A very sad update following the incident in Sandiacre on Monday.
‘Our thoughts go out to the man’s family and friends.
‘We are continuing to support our firefighters who attended the incident.’
‘We regularly work in this area to promote water safety, and will continue to do this going forward.’
‘“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
‘Our thoughts go out to the man’s family at this sad time”.

On Monday 18 July we attended a report of a person in the water near Ilkeston Road Sandiacre.
‘We attended along with a number of crews from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including specialist boat teams.
‘Police, paramedics and the air ambulance also attended.
‘The incident was closed around 7pm.
