Man drove the wrong way along Maid Marian Way in Nottingham

A man has been charged after a car was driven the wrong way on a busy Nottingham road.

The driver of a silver Ford Fiesta was stopped by patrolling officers after they spotted him driving contraflow on Maid Marian Way.

The incident happened shortly after 3am on Thursday (31 July).

The driver was asked to supply a sample of breath but failed to do so.

Ahmad Khalid, 33, of Abbotsford Drive, St Ann’s, Nottingham, has been charged with driving whilst unfit through drink, failing to provide specimen for analysis and failing to cooperate with a preliminary test.

He has been granted bail and is due to appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on August 19.
