A man is due to appear at court in Nottingham on Monday after he was charged following a fire at a flat in The Meadows area of Nottingham on Saturday evening.
The charge comes after Nottinghamshire Police arrested 27-year old Lahcen Tarouhalt shortly after officers responded to a report of the fire within a second floor flat in Holgate Road just after 10 pm on Saturday 16 May.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue crews attended to deal with the fire, which was contained within a single flat and was quickly extinguished. No-one was evacuated following the incident and no injuries were reported.
Tarouhalt, of Holgate Road, was arrested nearby and was this evening charged with committing arson with intent to endanger life and possession of a bladed article.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday 18 May.
