Man found guilty of harassing a judge

A 43-year-old man has been found guilty of harassing a judge after writing a blog and posting social media messages.

Richard Carvath of Swindon, Wiltshire was charged with harassment and found guilty at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Monday (23 March 2020).

Carvath was arrested by Nottinghamshire Police officers on 12 March 2019 after a report was made to the force that he was tweeting and posting footage online of a judge involved with a family case from 2017, which cannot be reported on for legal reasons.

The uploaded video, which was filmed outside the judge’s home address, showed bedroom blinds being closed.
