Detective Sergeant Rick Ellis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Assaults are incredibly dangerous and can have devastating consequences.

“We take reports of violence very seriously and will thoroughly investigate this case with a view to taking swift and appropriate action against the person responsible.

“Officers did an excellent job to make a quick arrest as part of their early enquiries and we are working hard to establish the circumstances.

“While we understand that incidents such as this are concerning for local residents, we believe that this was self-contained and there is no wider risk to the public.

“I would ask anyone who has any information to come forward as quickly as possible on 101 quoting incident number 22 of 13 of August 2021.”
