A suspect has been arrested after a man was hit over the head with a brick.
Police were called to Wollaton Vale, Wollaton, shortly before 11pm on Sunday (17 July 2022) following reports that two men were fighting.
Officers arrived to find the two men still fighting outside a property.
They broke up the fight and called an ambulance, as one the men had been hit with a brick and was drifting in and out of consciousness.
The other man, aged 42, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and taken into custody. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
The injured man was taken to hospital and his injuries are not deemed to be life-altering or life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Emma Pollard, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This type of behaviour won’t be tolerated and the officers involved deserve credit for getting to the scene so quickly to break up the fight.
“We have arrested a suspect in connection with this assault but our enquiries are very much still ongoing.
“That said, we are satisfied the two men involved are known to each other and there was no threat to anyone else.”
