A suspect has appeared in court after a police officer was spat at.
Officers were called to an address in Mansfield Road, Nottingham, at around 8pm on Wednesday 9 March following reports of a disturbance.
The officer was assaulted as he worked to arrest a suspect.
A 25-year-old man from Basford has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and two counts of criminal damage.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and was bailed to a to appear at the same venue on Friday 25 March.
Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Police officers go to work every day to keep the public safe from harm. When they are assaulted in the line of duty, we will always take very robust access in response.”
