A suspect has appeared before magistrates after a car collided with a pub.
Officers were alerted to a vehicle being taken from Thackeray’s Lane, Woodthorpe, shortly after 8 pm on Monday (27 Mach).
Responding cops were quick to track the car’s movements as it made its way into Worksop.
A car then crashed into the side of the Lockside pub, Victoria Square, in Worksop, shortly after 8.30 pm.
Jamie Kettle, aged 36, of Thoresby Close, Harworth, has now been charged with no insurance, aggravated vehicle taking, driving motor vehicle dangerously, drive whilst disqualified, and theft from a shop.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (29 March) and was remanded into custody to next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 19 April 2023.
Sergeant Clint Gloyn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Due to the quick work by officers we have now been able to bring a charge in this matter.
“Thankfully no one was injured during this incident.
“I want to thank all of the officers who have been working on this incident since Monday and am pleased a suspect has now appeared in court for this incident – which I hope reiterates to the public just how serious we take anyone seen to be putting other road users or the public at risk.”
