Man in court after car stolen from Clifton address

A man has appeared in court after police responded to reports of vehicle crime in a Nottingham neighbourhood.

Officers were called to Bridgnorth Drive, Clifton, around 8.30am on Saturday (12 July) following reports a car had been driven away from outside a home.

When they arrived at the scene, officers were flagged down and alerted to another incident in which a man had attempted to break into a different car before its owner confronted him.

Officers recovered the stolen car in Sunninghill Drive and worked quickly to locate and arrest a suspect following an area search.

Thomas Roe, aged 32, of Greencroft, Nottingham, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (14 July) and pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle which had been taken without the owner’s consent, vehicle interference, driving while disqualified and driving without  insurance.

“We understand people rely on their vehicles for work and to get around so always carry out thorough investigations and provide security advice to victims.”
