A man has appeared in court after police responded to reports of vehicle crime in a Nottingham neighbourhood.
Officers were called to Bridgnorth Drive, Clifton, around 8.30am on Saturday (12 July) following reports a car had been driven away from outside a home.
When they arrived at the scene, officers were flagged down and alerted to another incident in which a man had attempted to break into a different car before its owner confronted him.
Officers recovered the stolen car in Sunninghill Drive and worked quickly to locate and arrest a suspect following an area search.
Thomas Roe, aged 32, of Greencroft, Nottingham, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (14 July) and pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle which had been taken without the owner’s consent, vehicle interference, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
Roe was taken to hospital and has also admitted committing criminal damage and threatening behaviour while a patient at Queen’s Medical Centre.
Roe will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 8 September 2025 for sentencing.
