A prolific thief has admitted stealing over £4,000 worth of clothes from stores in Nottingham.
Callum Northage, aged 27, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Friday) charged with two burglaries and three shop thefts.
The first offence relates to a burglary at Blacks, in Wheeler Gate, on 5 September. A window was smashed and approximately £500 worth of clothing was stolen.
Northage targeted the same store on 17 September. Again, a window was smashed and this time clothing worth £1,858 was taken.
Three days earlier, he walked into JD Sports, at Riverside Retail Park, and walked out with a £150 jacket without paying.
Further shoplifting offences took place at Metro Fashion, in Middle Pavement, on 9 and 13 October, with Northage stealing a £1,200 coat and other items totalling £410 in value.
Northage, of Main Road, Wilford, pleaded guilty to all five offences and will be sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on 8 November.
Sergeant James Rimmington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“As a force we take all reports of shoplifting extremely seriously.
“We understand the implications these types of offences have on our local businesses and that is why we pursue all lines of inquiry to bring offenders to justice and protect our business community.”
