Man in court over six fuel thefts across Nottinghamshire

A man is due to appear in court after being arrested in connection with a series of fuel thefts.

Officers, acting on information provided by automatic number plate recognition camera, pulled over a car in Wildman Street, Nottingham, in the early hours of Wednesday morning

They were responding to a series of six fuel thefts in locations across the county dating back to August 2021.

A 55-year-old man has been charged with six counts of making off without payment and two counts of possessing a knife in a public place.

He was released on bail to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 16 February.

Sergeant James Rimmington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These kinds of theft offences can have a significant impact on local businesses and we committed to fully investigating every report that is made to us. I am pleased we have now charged a suspect in this case.”
