A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft. Officers made the arrest yesterday (Saturday 2 February 2019) and he remains in police custody.
Police were called to the Post Office in Main Street, Balderton at 3.20am yesterday to reports of a burglary.
Officers arrived and found damage caused to the premises and an ATM. An investigation is ongoing.
Patrols have been increased in the area as officers conduct house to house enquires and provide reassurance and updates to the local community.
The investigation will involve speaking to witnesses and viewing CCTV in the area.
