Two suspects were arrested after a man was assaulted and robbed.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was assaulted and robbed as he walked along Newgate Lane, Mansfield at around 1am in Thursday morning.
His watch, phone and a quantity of cash were stolen and he was later treated for facial injuries sustained in the attack.
Two men, aged 36 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. The older man was also arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill in relation to a separate offence.
Both remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Paul Lefford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty and violent robbery that caused considerable distress to the victim. Officers were very quickly on the scene and investigations have been ongoing since.
“We are determined to get justice for the victim in this case and I am pleased we now have two suspects in custody as our investigation continues.”
