Man in hospital after assault in a Nottingham pub this morning

Police have arrested a suspect after a man was assaulted in a bar.

Officers were called to Derby Road in Stapleford shortly after 1am this morning (9 November) following reports that a man had sustained a head injury.

The victim, in his 40s, remains in hospital.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody.

A cordon is in place while inquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Dave Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We’re carrying out inquiries into what happened in the early hours of this morning and would like to ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time to get in touch with us.”
