An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm this morning and remains in custody.
Detective Sergeant Simon Carter, of Nottinghamshire’s criminal investigation department, said: “The victim happened to be in the area with family and friends when it’s believed an altercation occurred with a group who were out on the street.
“This has then led to it escalating to some really violent behaviour. We will not tolerate this in Nottinghamshire and have been carrying out robust enquiries to uncover who was responsible.
“Thankfully the victim suffered minor injuries. The investigation continues and we’re appealing to anyone who saw the incident or who has information that could help to get in touch with us.
