Man jailed hours after release for breaching Criminal Behaviour Order

A man has been jailed for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order within hours of his release from prison.

Lee Keeton, 30, of no fixed address, was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to two breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

Keeton had been released from prison on Wednesday following a sentence for an unrelated matter. Later the same day, he was reported to have shouted, sworn and threatened staff at two pubs in Beeston, The Last Post and the Chequers Inn.

He was prohibited from entering The Last Post under an existing Criminal Behaviour Order and was also subject to conditions preventing behaviour likely to cause alarm or distress.
Police arrested Keeton and he was taken into custody. The following day he appeared before magistrates and admitted the offences.

The court also amended his Criminal Behaviour Order to include a ban on entering the Chequers Inn and a condition preventing him from carrying an open container of alcohol on Beeston and Chilwell High Roads.

PC Samantha Gledhill, of Nottinghamshire Police, said Criminal Behaviour Orders are issued by the courts to restrict certain activities and locations, and breaches are treated seriously.
