A man who raped a woman 20-years-ago has been jailed.
Robert Longhorn, 57, was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday 16 March 2018 following a five-day trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
Longhorn, formerly of Hoe View Road, Cropwell Bishop, carried out the attack in Brighton in 1998. His victim came forward to report it in 2016.
Longhorn will also sign the sex offender register for life.
DC Dan Akehurst said: “Longhorn carried out a brutal attack on his victim and it’s something she has had to live with for a long time. “We will do everything in our power to bring sexual offenders to justice, no matter how much time has passed and I hope that this outcome gives the victim in this case some closure.”
