Man allegedly kept as prisoner inside a Nottingham house, two charged

Detectives have charged two brothers after a man was reportedly assaulted and kept prisoner inside a house.

The incident is understood to have taken place in Stapleford overnight on 26 April 2022 until the following afternoon (27 April).

The victim, who suffered injuries to his face, ribs and legs, was reportedly assaulted on multiple occasions during that time.

Following extensive enquiries, detectives arrested suspects Kai Unczur, 20, and Christopher Unczur, 19, on Tuesday (11 May 2022) in connection with the incident.

Kai Unczur, of Stapleford, has been charged with false imprisonment, possession of an imitation firearm, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

Christopher Unczur, of no fixed address, has been charged with false imprisonment, possession of an imitation firearm, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, assault by beating, criminal damage, possession of a Class B drug and using threatening behaviour.

Both suspects appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (11 May 2022), where they were released on conditional bail.

They are both next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 30 May 2022.

Detective Inspector Richard Guy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The force takes all reports of this nature extremely seriously and wherever this is the case, our officers will always take proactive measures and act swiftly to keep people safe.

“We have now charged two suspects in connection with this incident and criminal proceedings are currently under way.”
