A man has been left frightened after he was assaulted, threatened and had his tobacco stolen.
It was reported he was punched in the jaw and a man grabbed a knife, threatening to stab him.
The victim then managed to escape the scene in Bath Street in St Ann’s at around 5am yesterday (11 March 2021).
Officers located the man and he was arrested and taken to Bridewell Custody Suite.
Detective Chief Inspector Nick Waldram is leading the investigation. He said: “This must have been a terrifying experience for the victim.
“A 20-year-old man was been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has since been interviewed and bailed with conditions.
“This was an upsetting incident for the victim and his family and we are determined to get to the bottom of what happened here.
“The man suffered minor injuries.
“We believe that this incident is contained and that the people involved in this incident are all known to one another. There is no wider risk to public safety.
“Nottinghamshire Police takes extremely seriously and will investigate all reports thoroughly.”
