Man seriously injured after stabbing at Nottingham address – woman arrested

Police arrested a woman after swiftly responding to report of a stabbing in New Basford.

Officers were called to an address in Beech Avenue at 11.42pm yesterday (Thursday 15 October 2020).

It’s currently believed the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was assaulted inside the property.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and his current condition is described as stable.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Jackson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers swiftly arrived at the scene and we are continuing with our enquiries to understand the full circumstances of the incident.

“Our investigation is still in its early stages and we’re urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could help us to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 797 of 15 October 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“As a force, Nottinghamshire Police takes weapon-enabled offences extremely seriously and we will thoroughly investigate any incidents reported to us.”

A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody.
