Man seriously injured in dog attack at Nottingham pub

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries when he was bitten by a dog as he walked into a pub.

The victim was attacked as he approached the entrance to the Broad Oak Inn, Main Street, Strelley, Nottingham.

A child shouted to grab his attention and as the victim approached the outside table the dog mauled him.

The victim spent a week in hospital and was left with wounds to his legs and torso following the incident, which took place at around 5:50 pm on 15 July 2023.

Officers investigating the attack are now in a position to release this CCTV image – and would urgently like to speak to the people pictured who could hold vital information into exactly what happened.

Police Constable Gerard Masaoy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“The victim suffered nasty injuries in this attack and we clearly don’t want this dog attacking anyone else.

“I’m appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone who has any information which could assist us with our investigation, to please get in touch with us.

“Finally, I would urge the owner involved to do the right thing and come forward so we can take their account.”
