Man seriously injured in hospital after fight at Sneinton address

A suspect has been arrested after a man was left with serious injuries following an alleged fight.

Police were called to Sneinton Boulevard, Sneinton, shortly after 1.15 am, this morning (Saturday 14 January), after receiving a report of a man being seriously injured following a fight inside an address.

The response officers quickly found the injured victim and on further inspection of the house arrested a man.

The victim, aged 27, remains in hospital with serious injuries to his head and shoulder.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He remains in custody as inquiries into what happened to continue.

Detective Sergeant Lee Cattell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This incident has left one man in a serious condition in hospital with his injuries potentially life-threatening.

“Our officers were quickly on scene and were able to administer first aid before paramedics arrived and the victim was taken to hospital.

“I want to reassure the public that we do believe those involved are known to each other and there is no wider risk to the community.

“Our investigation is still ongoing and we are working hard to understand exactly what happened but I want to ask anyone in the area with any information or CCTV footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
